In a recent meeting, the Frisco City Council unanimously approved the rezoning of a 124-acre tract at the northwest corner of PGA Parkway and Coit Road for a new single-family residential development. The project, named First Texas Homestead at Collinsbrook, will introduce 297 homes to the rapidly growing northeast Frisco area.
The development will be situated within the boundaries of the Prosper Independent School District, providing new housing options for families seeking residence in this sought-after district. Notably, the council approved a reduction in the standard rear setback from 30 feet to 15 feet for this project, allowing for more flexible lot configurations.
This decision follows the Planning and Zoning Commission’s earlier recommendation in March, which passed with a 4-2 vote. Commissioners Steve Cone and Brian Merrell expressed concerns regarding the reduced setbacks but were in the minority.
As Frisco continues to experience significant growth, developments like First Texas Homestead at Collinsbrook are essential to accommodate the increasing demand for housing. Residents can expect construction to commence in the near future, further contributing to the city’s expansion and development.
